A fence can help separate the pool from the rest of the yard, but it cannot promise that a child will never reach the water. Use attentive adult supervision, keep the gate closed, and maintain the complete barrier. A latch that does not engage or a panel left open undermines the boundary.
Make the daily habits part of the plan
- Keep gates closed and never prop them open.
- Check self-closing and latching operation regularly.
- Move chairs, toys, and other climbable objects away from the fence.
- Look for damaged panels, loose fittings, and openings.
- Assign attentive adult supervision whenever children are around water.
